Two workers killed after a 65-foot fall in a construction accident

Two construction workers fell 65 feet to their death while working in an elevator shaft in New York.

The two victims of the construction accident were not wearing safety harnesses at the time of the fall. Department of Building officials barred work on the site after the accident until a pending investigation that will look into the safety measures required on the job.

Before this construction accident, the Department of Buildings registered 15 complaints against the construction site since work began in late 2009. Issues vary from debris to fence regulations. There were also numerous zoning violations and other construction code issues during the time of construction.
